Missing bird alert

GUILDERLAND - If you’ve recently lost a cockatiel in or near Guilderland, the State Police have your bird.

Recruits were doing firearm training at the Guilderland Range on Grant Hill Road when the bird flew in and landed on one of the recruits hats.

Trooper said the bird was unfazed by the gunshots or the sight of recruits dressed in bullet-proof vests.

State Police said the bird was “taken into custody” by the firearms instructor and is being held for safe keeping.
